Ventilation valves and throttles
Ventilation valves and chokes from Karcoma are adapted to the specific requirements of our customers. This applies both to the dimensions and shape in relation to the respective installation space and to functional parameters such as the opening pressure or, in combination with a filter element, the mesh fineness. Compliance with the specified limit values for important features is ensured by testing each individual component during series production, either manually or automatically, depending on the scope of the project.
Use
Ventilation of tank and drive systems, fluid systems and liquid containers. Used, for example, in vehicle transmissions and engine equipment.
Description
Spring-loaded ball valve, blocks the flow in one direction, allows free flow in the opposite direction
Functionality
With spring-loaded check valves, the closing element (ball) is pressed into the corresponding seat from one side by spring force, thus closing the valve (home position). If there is pressure in the direction of flow through the flowing medium (air) which overcomes the force of the spring, the ball is lifted from the seat and the flow is free.
Different opening pressures can be generated with different springs.
Use
Pressure reduction in the flowing medium in fluid and drive systems. Use for example in vehicle transmissions.
Functionality
The pressure reduction in the medium flowing through is achieved by a narrowing of the flow cross-section, if necessary also in combination with a filter element.
Karcoma - Fuel Filter
Karcoma inline fuel filters contain microfilters made of phosphor bronze wire or plastic filaments which provide optimum filtering performance.
Their standardized connections allow an unproblematic installation in any fuel line.
Karcoma fuel filters are used in a large variety of applications in automotive, motorcycle and other motors.
Karcoma inline fuel filters contain inner filter [1] made of phosphor bronze wire or plastic filaments which provide optimum filtering performance. The mesh size determines the filter fineness and is adjusted to the medium to be filtered. Their standardized connections [2] allow an unproblematic installation in any fuel line.
Karcoma - Decompression Valve
Fields
The Karcoma decompression valve is a pressure-reducing valve used primarily in two-stroke motors of chain saws, lawn mowers, hedge cutters, trimmers, motorized scythes, abrasive cutters, straw choppers, power cultivators, snow blowers, leaf blowers, outboard engines, etc.
How it works
Starting such an engine is often difficult because the compression in the combustion chamber causes changing, sometimes very high reaction forces which affect the operator’s hand. The Karcoma decompression valve facilitates the starting process by relieving the internal combustion chamber pressure during the compression phase. To start the combustion engine, the decompression valve is manually brought into its open position, so that the internal combustion chamber pressure in the starting phase is conducted outside via vent holes.
The force required from the operator to start the engine is significantly reduced, resulting in a significant increase in comfort and safety by minimizing the risk of uncontrolled movements. After the first ignition of the engine, the internal combustion pressure increases rapidly and the valve closes automatically. This closes the venting channel and the combustion engine operates without loss of compression or power.
Finest tuning
In order to achieve optimum starting behaviour of the motor units, the closing force and ventilation must be precisely matched to the respective motor characteristics. This makes it clear that there is no “Deco for all cases”. With Karcoma you have the possibility to choose the right one for your engine from a large number of already existing variants. And if the optimum version does not yet exist, we simply redesign it – individually for your application and, if desired, with your very special button design.
Before starting the motor the decompression valve has to be opened by knob [1]. This allows a portion of the fuel/air mixture in the combustion chamber of the cylinder to escape through a throttling port [2] within the decompression valve. This reduces the pressure in the combusting chamber, easing starting of the motor and reducing wear and tear on the starter. The closing force [3] will be adjusted to the existent pressure to reach an optimum of closing performance. The valve closes automatically with the first ignition sequence. The height [4] is adjusted to the desired installation position.
Karcoma - Fuel Cock
Karcoma manufactures a wide range of fuel cocks for motorcycles, motorbicycles, small engines, stationary engines, gasoline and diesel vehicles.
Straight and three-way cocks made by Karcoma are used in automotive vehicles, tractors, special vehicles and diesel engines.
Karcoma cocks are also used in fuel, oil and cooling water tanks.
1 Tank Filter 2 Reserve Pipe 3 Connection Nut 4 Cup 5 Hose Connection 6 Switch
Tank Filter:
The filter serves as optimum fuel pollution prevention. Filter screens ascertain standard fineness marks and are adjustable according to material.
Reserve Pipe:
If filling level reaches top edge of reserve pipe in the fuel tank the fuel cock must be switched to the position “reserve.” Consequently it signals that the fuel gets low. By the length of the reserve pipe the reserve capacity can be defined in the fuel tank.
Connection nut:
The connection nut connects the fuel tap with the fuel tank. The internal thread of the connection nut is concepted per each half as a left and right-hand thread. Therefore, the nut can be fastened at the fuel tap and the fuel tank simultaneously.
Cup:
Additional filtering of the fuel is guaranteed with the sediment and water bowl. Based on different density, sediments of condensation water remain at bottom of the sediment and water bowl and cannot penetrate into the carburetor.
Hose Connection:
The hose stem is used for mounting the fuel hose with different rated quantities for selection.
Switch:
At straight-way cock and drain cock:
1 inflow and 1 outlet
handle positions:
– initial position vertical: “On”
– turning from initial position by 90°: “Off”
– switching position clockwise, counter-clockwise or both
At reserve cock:
1 inflow and 1 outlet
handle positions:
– initial position vertical: “On”
– turning from initial position by 90° clockwise: “Res” (reserve)
– turning from initial position by 90° counter-clockwise: “Off”
At three way cock:
1 inflow and 2 outlet
handle positions:
– initial position vertical: “Off”
– turning from initial position by 90° clockwise: “On” (1st flow)
– turning from initial position by 90° counter-clockwise: “On” (2nd flow)
