What is our production really like?
Not yesterday, not last week – but right now?
To make exactly that transparent, we at Karcoma rely on modern production data acquisition (PDA).
What that means in concrete terms:
- Production orders are recorded directly on tablets at the machines
- Real-time analysis of our manufacturing KPIs
- Good parts
- Scrap
- Downtime
This data gives us a clear view of what matters:
- Performance rate
- Quality rate
- Equipment availability
And the best part:
These KPIs are transparent for everyone.
On our shopfloor boards in the departments, the current figures are visualized and discussed together every morning in the shopfloor meeting – across departments.
This creates a shared data basis for decisions – directly from production.
And in future, we will go even further:
- The currently paper-based production order will be fully digitized
- Orders will be selectable directly on the tablet to match the machine
- In the longer term, the machines will provide the data automatically – without manual entries
Our goal:
Less paper, fewer manual steps – more real-time transparency.
